Solar electric bike: Energy where you don’t need it

Okay, solar energy may definitely be the answer to all our energy needs in the future, but then a bike doesn’t really need a lot of energy saving, does it? You’d gladly use it for all its worth if you’re up for saving some bucks on gas and also beat the traffic. The EV Sunny Solar electric bike therefore, isn’t exactly the kind of thing that is likely to sell by the dozen the day it’s launched. It sure looks unique but those shiny wheel covers, which are apparently the energy heroes don’t look like they can hold up for long do they? Moreover, the bike weighs a mighty 75 lbs, making it too bad its worth to actually carry around. The front hub motor puts out 500 watts and the bike actually costs a steep $1,300, not exactly the amount you’d invest to save energy on something that hardly uses much energy apart from the flab hanging on your body.
